As a young adult, she embraced veganism partly in the name of earthly conservation. As time went on, she wanted to give her body protein from more varied sources while still honoring mother earth. So she made a commitment to shoot or source her animal protein locally. What she learned was that vegans, hunters, and people who raise animals for feed humanely have more in common than you might expect.

Sara's journey is unexpectedly fascinating.  You don't have to be vegan or a carnivore to get valuable insight from this discussion. What we know to be true about healthy nutrition is constantly evolving, but one thing we know for sure is that is it in our best interest to source our food in a way that conserves our planet.

PS-Sara and I are both dog owners, and at times during this episode,  we are very sweetly interrupted by our dogs. This is just one of those benefits of working from home. {{woof}}
